Children’s Rights

Amongst the preparations for next week and various appointments my depute and I visited Bruce Adamson, the Children’s Commissioner for. Scotland along with his s colleague Nick Hobbs.

Nick is well known to us and I’ve met Bruce several times over the years, mainly in his role as a panel member. We’ve been trying to meet up since his appointment last year but “events” and other diary clashes have intervened.

So great to reflect on his perceptions of the system now he is no longer directly involved. Some interesting discussions on how a more explicit focus on children’s rights in the hearing by panel members might shift the nature of the dialogue.
