Billy Bragg

My daughter & I went to see Billy Bragg tonight. He was actually supporting Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot but we weren’t bothered about them. Daughter loves Billy Bragg & it occurred to me I was about her age when I first saw him. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him live and it was quite emotional seeing him do songs like Greetings to the New Brunette which are so tied up with my own youth, alongside my daughter who is now in her youth. It felt like the circle of life, but with better lyrics.
