Merry Christmas, and a Happy 50th Birthday!
After an early morning curator’s tour at the V&A, C then took the train to Bath and was here by lunchtime, just in time for four World Cup football matches and another slap up meal to celebrate Christmas 2017 (we haven’t seen my brother and his wife since June of last year), and my brother’s 50th birthday (the photobook went down a treat!).
Chef’s menu of the day:
Spring Vegetable Ragôut with Almond Pesto
Lamb Meatballs with Fennel
or
Polenta Al Forno
Dilled Potatoes and Carrots
Date and Golden Syrup Pudding (not cooked by Chef, he doesn’t do puds!)
Served with various wines, a 1968 Madeira and a 1968 Armagnac. According to my brother, 1968 was a vintage year!
