Arctic Terns

Not the best day for a trip to The Isle of May ..... the threatened rain came with a vengeance while we were on the island this afternoon. Once you're soaked through there is not much you can do except carry on with the great sea bird hunt

The terns haven't started nesting yet so we were quite safe from the dive bombing .... spotted this pair having a spot of fun! The puffins are always worth a photo even when the rain is running in rivulets round your feet.

The house is now full of sodden shoes and soaking jackets and backpacks.  Very tired ..... so it's time for bed!
