Caterpillar

This little hairy caterpillar was outside our house on the path and was rescued by.... guess? My son yes. Popped into his caterpillar house for now so he can take it to school Monday - as part of his rainforest theme at school they are learning about butterflies. After that he will let it go.

We aren’t actually sure what caterpillar it is despite looking through his books so if anyone knows for sure I would be very grateful! My son actually took this photograph too so I thought it only fair to use it!!!!

I had a busy day of taking him swimming very early in the morning, then my daughter to gymnastics, popping to a craft shop to top up on some items I needed and then, when I started feeling really tired, treated myself to a nap! I’m trying to practice self-compassion - looking after myself more. I have been reading some interesting material on it. Firstly looking at compassion and how we would naturally want to help others if they are feeling sad, we would want to cheer them up, if they were tried we would encourage them to sleep etc etc... but I for one am not so good at treating myself with such care and compassion, carrying on until I’m burnt out! So I was pleased with myself for having a nap and it certainly helped me carry on the rest of the day enjoying some more crossstitch a friend has commissioned and helping my son with one for Father’s Day too
