Whale watching ...
Spent an amazingly sunny day cycling around the coastal path to try and see some of Puerto Madryn's famous whales! What on the map seemed to be a relatively easy coastal route turned out to be a mammoth undertaking involving a lot of vehicle dodging on untarmacked roads. Luckily we all survived!
We arrived at the bay and were lucky enough to see a few whales (way out on the horizon) splashing around - unfortunately the closest we got to one was this dead one washed up on the beach. I know we are taught from a young age that whales are the biggest mammals on earth but it is hard to truly appreciate the size until you see one up close. This must have been only a baby but was still absolutely huge. Although sad to see it was certainly impressive - especially the smell!
