The Horse's Mouth

A handsome pair (extra) of horses have arrived  in the field at the top of the hill.  It's the Common Riding Season, and I think they are just visiting.

They weren't interested in posing once they realised that I wasn't going to feed them, but this one did at least come over for a look, and a mouthful of the grass from the other side of the wall.  

We looked in at the Book Festival again this afternoon, and then stopped at Born In the Borders for TM's  Fathers' Day treat. 

The webcam was working and we had a great view into the ospreys' nest - the new female is still there and we saw Samson deliver her a fish. Hopefully this means that they are going to pair up, and next year may return and hatch some chicks.
