Dirleton Castle.

Caught the bus with A and travelled out to Dirleton where we spent a lovely couple of hours round the castle and gardens. 

The gardens are in full bloom, with huge numbers of bumble bees of every kind. 

We then followed the John Muir path to the beach and walked along the sand to North Berwick. 

There seems to have been a sea urchin die off. I saw at least ten skull like shells on the water's edge being pushed in by the tide. The majority of them were bone white and clean, but there were a couple like this. 

Can anyone tell me what the cartilage like button in the middle is? 

An ice-cream in North Berwick and then the bus home.
