Clockwork

Some stories write themselves.....you sit at your keyboard and it's almost like taking dictation from a voice in your head. Before you know it, you're rapidly heading towards the bottom of the second page. And others have to be wrestled reluctantly into existence, with a bracing blast of Google and a surge of deadline adrenaline hopefully enough to dissipate the doubts. Thankfully this afternoon's feature wanted to be written and I was well onto page four by the time I finally finished it, shut down the creaking office PC and headed hamewords....
