Special Friend...

Ele and Kenny stayed over and we used the excuse of it being Father's Day to go over to the golf club for breakfast.  It's been ages since the four of us were there together so it was lovely.

Back to ours and Ele and Kenny helped David to get the massive mirror back on the wall above the fireplace in Alan's sitting room.  It's been down since we re-decorated in there.  David and Kenny then got the legs onto our new garden table and got it set up.  I am really pleased with the set we've bought as it fits the decking space perfectly.

Ele and Kenny headed off to visit Kenny's mum who hasn't been too well and we settled down with a coffee to watch Columbo!  Well it is Father's Day so D's choice! :-)

My mobile phone rang just after 5pm and it was our friend Carole (Lola's breeder) to say she would be passing our house shortly and would we like her to pop in to give Lola a trim.  The answer was a definite yes as I had planned to contact Carole tomorrow to see if she could trim Lola this week sometime so she is looking her best for the puppy birthday party Carole has organised for next Sunday (I can't quite believe Lola will be one year old on 26th June!)  

Lola was delighted to see Carole and eventually calmed down enough to let Carole give her a good all over trim.  We've also been struggling to get another tick off Lola's forehead but between them, David and Carole managed to get rid of it.  She is now looking at her truly beautiful self.  Just got to try and keep her out of muddy puddles till next Sunday chance will be a fine thing!

Poor Alan hasn't been too great today.  He started being sick around 3pm.  We checked his temperature (fine) and he said he wasn't in pain, just felt a bit yuck, so no food for him for the next 24 hours.  He hasn't been sick since 6pm but is just going to bed so we will see if lying down has a negative effect on his stomach.  Will raise the back of his bed so that he's not lying too flat.  Poor lad, he was supposed to be going skiing again tomorrow afternoon but I suspect that will have to be re-scheduled.

Because of Alan being poorly,  David hasn't had his Father's Day card and pressie from him yet so we shall celebrate properly tomorrow instead.
