Sharp of eye

Caught the blackbird at the apple on the fence. I expected silvereyes to be at them but not yet. They are sticking to the sugar water. I see it has pooed there already and that is camellia petals balancing there as well.

I do like the blackbirds. We just have a pair. They are so quiet. They just hop around the garden scratching, pulling at worms in the lawn. They shelter under the wooden chair on the patio. No drama.
This was taken just before it started to rain.

I did go out to open up a sister in laws house and put on her heat pump, leave some soup in the fridge. She has had a few days recuperating at a local rest home where there are some medical beds as well. We are very lucky in that a local chap pushed for the hospital for elderly and dementia, and a Trust organised it and the locals all contributed- from diggers to gravel, to builders and concrete, community groups doing fund raising and gardens- no drama.
The weather has turned cold so must be snowing somewhere.
