Ninebark
This Ninebark shrub is finally blooming greatly after a 4 year wait. I planted it on advice of the NY Conservation people for turning my gardens into native growing gardens to attract birds and insects that need the flowers and leaves of native plants.
So, now the bush is blooming and inviting customers and for some reason we are VERY short on bees and butterflies. I have seen a few small busy bees on the Ninebark.
I hope this is just a fluke. Were I to count the number of bees or butterflies/moths I have seen this spring I would not need all of my fingers.
AND... for the record we are in a HEAT advisory over 100ºF heat index
until 8 p.m. tonight. Stay indoors and drink plenty~ I can do that!
