Dactylorhiza fuchsii

aka common orchid. Lots of them on the common at the moment. I see many interesting things over there including, today, a crow who appeared to be mantling like a bird of prey while another one stood nonchalantly alongside. I kept the dogs away and went for a closer look, expecting to find some prey beneath its wings but there didn’t appear to be anything and the crows flew off. Weird. Was it trying to cool down perhaps?

I also found someone’s gold Visa card and phoned the relevant bank up to report it. They took the details and said they’d block it, asking me to destroy the card. I asked if they’d let the owner know but apparently not. Oh well, I guess he’ll find out soon enough.
