Track 9

Been fascinated lately by the way music can uplift (or have quite the opposite effect). I discussed this with a friend yesterday.

After Mathew & I split up, it seemed that every song on the radio was about falling in love, being in love, or breaking up (actually I think this is what most songs are about anyway).

On the night we drove to Scotland to visit his Old Gran in hospital every song was about death or the afterlife. Apart from Crazy Crazy Nights, which just reflected that it was a crazy night.

After a rubbish day on Sunday, I was woken up by McFly's greatest hits on Monday morning, and then the same song came on my phone again a bit later.

As spiritual as I am, I'm not foolish enough to believe entirely that somebody "out there" is somehow streaming these songs to me, it's just what catches in the mesh of my mind. The songs that resonate with the events of greatest significance in our lives at any given time, like how you notice so many more of the cars you just bought.

It's still kinda cool though, isn't it?
