30 Days Wild Day 18 - Turdus merula
Another trip up to Carlisle. Killing two birds with one stone (not literally - it is 30 days wild after all). On Saturday when we were preping the Lodge we realised the TV had a fault. We did put in a small one as a replacement but with the World Cup on we couldn't leave guests in the lurch. So the first task was wandering round various shops looking for a suitable replacement. Finally we decided on a 40" JVC which was a suitable compromise between technology and price point.-ray picked up a problem, precancerous cells.
Next it was on to hospital for Clickychick's routine mammography. So important! Had it not been for routine x-rays she may well have not been with us today. Twelve years ago a routine x-ray picked up precancerous cells. Surgery solved the problem, had things not been detected so early the surgery may have been much more serious/traumatic or worse. When offered tests for anything accept.
The blip is a male Blackbird foraging on the hospital lawn. I suspect the scruffy look is due to the trials and tribulations of raising a family.
