Built in air conditioning!

Yesterday I went to yoga then did another bird survey on one of our designated routes. We got chatting to a couple that we met on the footpath and they own the land. The path is a mass of ruts and a sea of mud in wet weather. They were saying that they can't stop motorbike off roaders using the path and they're doing terrible damage to it.

The target birds weren't there but we saw a female pied flycatcher in the woodland and could hear her chicks calling as she went back and to the nest feeding them. We couldn't see the nest but the chicks were very vocal! I've put a photo of her as an extra.

The main photo is of a beautiful derelict cottage with attached barn that we passed to get to our route.
