Bathroom Murder

I found this grey house spider (Badumna longinqua) picnicking on my handbasin.  The victim was a big brown blowfly.  The spider was just under 1cm in length, much smaller than the fly. Try large if you dare.

Update on the  starling chicks- all three  are still there.  I watched anxiously for some time before I saw all of them at once.  When a patch of sunshine filtered through the trees they sat in it and preened themselves.  The parents continue to feed them. By this afternoon they were exploring that corner of the garden.  I saw one in a low bush.
