Tiny Tuesday: Rocket Powered?

I hope these cotyledons (and many others like them) mean that we'll soon be harvesting rocket in our veggie patch. It usually self-seeds from one year to the next, but this year it seems to have been slower than usual to appear. As it can be tricky at this embryonic stage to be sure if it's rocket or a weed, I'm planning to allow the seedlings to grow for several more days for them to show themselves for what they really are. Then I'll pull out the weeds (I'm sure there are some!) and leave the rocket for us to eat...as long as we can get to it before the snails!

I'd never noticed the fine white speckles until I saw the macro photo on my screen.
