Samaria Gorge

Went for the big one today. Started at the top - and yomped down.
Samaria Gorge is famous (if you are in Crete) for its length and depth, and is quite spectacular. It is also very busy. There was a steady stream of people walking through which was a bit frustrating. We spent a lot of time trying overtake people, stopping for a rest and then having to overtake again. It was also very hot, particularly in one section where the gorge was narrow and the rocky walls were very high.
Our reward at the end was a cold beer andthen a dip in the sea when we got back to our village.
