Mobilgas Survives!
We visited our tax accountant this afternoon, in Williamsburg--a classy small town that makes numerous efforts to evoke the past. Just down from her office is this auto garage (dating from 1964!) with its vintage gas pump on display. The history is complicated, but Mobiloil was one of the companies descended from the breakup of Standard Oil in 1911. Mobilgas was one of its trademark products in the 1930s and 1940s. This morning we had a lovely visit from our birder friend Arn, who came by to see the presentation "Spirits of Spring", which he had missed. On our last outing with him we saw a wonderful worm-eating warbler.
