AGAIN???

I know what you’re thinking... another outing organised by S ended up in tragedy.... no, you’re wrong this time! :-)

After my morning chores I decided to scout the garden in search for today’s blip: a lovely butterfly on the lavender? A lovely cactus in bloom? A blackbird? A sparrow? A tortoise laying eggs? Hang on a second! One of the tortoises is laying eggs again? Oh my Goodness! I need my tripod! Oh no! The battery of my camera is almost flat... going.... going.... gone! Oh no! Where’s my phone? Oh my... the battery is almost flat.... going.... going... gone! OH NO!!! I need my iPad! WHAT? I can’t believe it.... the battery is almost flat.... :’-((( going.... going.... gone.....

Anyway, I managed to witness the entire event this time and I took some pictures. The quality is not the best, but I think it is something worth seeing, even if it is blurred and out of focus! The main photo shows the three eggs Holofernes (I know.... it’s a male name and she’s a female, but I didn’t have a clue when I first got them...). The extra shows the third egg being delivered.

Holofernes was really good! She must have suffered a lot, but she was a brave girl! She deserved a prize and so a slice of melon was delivered and disappeared in no time! Now we just have to wait until September and hope the eggs were fertilised when the tortoises were at my friend’s! :-)
