Male Great Spotted Woodpecker

It is dark in the coniferous forest but the loud chirping of the baby woodpeckers is quite distinctive. It was lovely to see both parents very busily feeding through the nesting holes this morning. Many thanks to Lindsey and Bosco who walk in those woods and who had located this site, taking me to see it.
