Vacation Day 11

Late flight to Kunming and about 12:00am arrival at the hotel. 10:00am breakfast (at McDonalds no less) and a walk around Kunming. IN the afternoon we jumped on a bus to Shi Lin (Stone Forest). IT was interesting for a while but after a while.. Stone is stone. The place is very famous and was paked. I can only imagine what the poort guides said to everyone as they went around taking the groups.

"Hmmmmmm here is a stone. And over there.. there is another stone. If you look left, there is a big stone and on the right. a smaller stone."

Last dinner of the vacation and we hit a hot pot restaurant. I have had hot pot many times in China but never had it searved like this.. It was GREAT.

As you can see, there is a pot in the middle of the table and there is a flame under it (from a gas bottle under the table). You buy lates of food and cook it in the pot. AT the particular restaurnat they brought out the pot unmixed. The red on the poutside is spicey (and I mean spicey) we asked for the mid strength spice and it nearly blietered our lips. The smaller bolw in the middle of the pot if not spiced but still has a ovely flavour to it. We had beef, mutton, crab, spine, lotus root and a big basket of mushrooms.. It was a wonderful last dinner meal.
