Still There

As Bellfield prepares for its grand public re-opening this weekend, another Porty building stands neglected - the old George cinema is still behind wire fences, slowly crumbling. The developers have appealed against the council decision to refuse planning permission and a Reporter has been appointed by the Scottish Government. Having seen a number of cases where the external Reporter has over-ruled local decisions in favour of developers I am a little concerned that the developers will get their way here too and the chance of following places like Aberfeldy and Montrose will be lost.
