Whats this round here ...

12.9C. Very mild but there is a breeze. Dull most of the day although brighter late afternoon.

Watched a program on telly last night about Ian Rankin the author, and the process he goes through in writing a book. It was a very good program, and it was fascinating to watch the way he works. His new book brings back his most famous character Inspector John Rebus, who retired as a detective but will be working with an unsolved cases unit. I look forward to reading it.

Spent some time this morning digging up and sorting the last of the maincrop potatoes. Brushed off most of the soil and have stored them in a dry, dark, frost free place in our garage. Glad thats done before more frosts come along.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. We went straight down the road to the shore. Halfway down the road we turned into the field and walked across the stubble to have a look at a plough that has been lying in the field for some weeks. The top half of the field has been ploughed and sown, the bottom half is yet to be done. I took a few shots round the plough and its multiple blades.

Back on the road we continued to the bottom then went along the shore road and over the road bridge across the railway line to Westhaven. The tide was well out so Maeve and I went down onto the hard sand and had a wander about amongst the mooring ropes and floats to have a look for possible blips. I have chosen one of Maeve today. She was having a look at the bottom of the innermost mooring post and the rope coiled round the base. She concluded there wasn't a good blip round that side :-)

Later I had some of the chocolate limes I bought yesterday.
