From field to vase

After digging and weeding in the garden, I went for a walk down the lanes.  I came across Tony the grower who was cropping broad beans. I told him his sweet Williams have been admired on blip and he solved the conundrum of why they don't have any scent.  Apparently the newer F1 hybrids have no smell.  Sadly all these flowers will be discarded as there is a slight leaf fungus which makes them unsaleable.  He kindly cut me a bunch for Mrs TT which she arranged for the front room.
