Rob Roy McGregor

Today we cycled from Trossachs pier to Stronachlachan along the private but well maintained road on the North side of Loch Katrine. There were not many folk about until we got to the tea room at Stronaclachan. It was a lovely cycle in mature forest with great views, although some pushing was required on the hills.
This is Rob Roy country. He was born in Gyle house at the west end of the Loch ( extra) and we also passed the McGregor graveyard ( extra). Just to get the whole Rob Roy experience we dropped past his grave at Balquhidder on the way back to the hotel.
