Vancouver - First Nation tattoos

Day 6 of our holiday in Canada and a visit to the Bill Reid gallery In Vancouver. I was particularly interested in this with the rise in popularity of tattooing, and wonder if people would be quite so keen if it was still done in this way, actually sewing animal sinew into your skin.
