When we were young

Lots of young birds around the garden at the moment - and some jaded looking parents too! Sparrows go around in gangs and are to be seen everywhere. Others go it alone. Here is a young Great Tit and a young Blue Tit. They both look so new and fluffy. They don't have a lot of confidence and were waiting above the feeders before they flew down.

However, it was easy to see why they hesitated (see extra). Another young Woodpecker. These two have probably learnt the hard way that one keeps out of the way of that beak.
