Rainbow

Our yoga teacher really worked us hard this morning which felt most satisfying. So I was more than ready for some more leg stretching in the afternoon and although the forecast had been for it to be very wet, the rain held off to allow the dogs and me to have a good walk. As you can see from this shot though, the rain was not far away and the rainbow showed up perfectly against the hills, disappearing again into the pale sky only to re-emerge on the right and out of the frame as it fell across a darkening sky. As you can see the heathers have turned a gorgeous burnt sienna colour now and while some trees are already bare, the larch is proudly showing off as its golden needles glow in the sunlight. The conifers meanwhile quietly await the snow falls to bring them into favour!
