challenging all comers
...less sunshine today but still dry and more than acceptable. At lunchtime we went for a short stroll in Wareham Forest. Just before we pulled into a parking area, we spotted a magnificent buzzard perched on a footpath fingerpost - needless to say it had gone by the time we sneaked back, but what a shot it would have made.
After walking through the darkness of the pine trees it was a delight to emerge into a little glade where we noticed a lot of interaction between a group of nuthatches and an ever larger group of coal tits. It appeared that they had found a particularly rich stash of seeds which this nuthatch was defending belligerently. I waited and waited to get a shot of him seeing off one of the other birds but the action was too fast and the light too poor - I had to shoot at ISO640 to get this image...
