Catching the light.
This afternoon turned out to be very warm! It registered 27C in the car. A heatwave is apparently on its way here next week. The temperatures predicted to be 28C on three consecutive days, the others 25C-27C. (The range being 78F-82F here in the Midlands, for those who do not use Centigrade.)
After tea I once again watered the garden plants, as we are paying a visit to see our son and our 3 grandchildren, 6, 5 and 2 years old, tomorrow. A drive of 1 hour and 45 minutes, mostly motorway. ( Their mum will not be there as she is taking a craft course that day)
It was the longest day yesterday and was still light until about 10.15 pm. It never goes completely dark at this time of year as the sky begins to lighten once more about 3.45 am.
So after a hot afernoon I watered the plants as our soil is particularly free draining and dries out fairly quickly, even with added "mulch" for those of you who like gardening.
The "lawn" such as it is, already has brown patches, from lack of regular drenching rain.
I don't water the grass as it always recovers during the autumn and winter months.
After I finished the light was beautiful that I took the photo.
Midsummer garden.
