Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker
I was pleased to capture this juvenile on a tree rather than on the feeder for a change, it's always good to see them wherever they are but I think this looks more natural. It's been a pleasant day with a walk this morning and then the afternoon we've just spent in and out of the garden - it's not been warm enough to sit for long but we've enjoyed being outdoors anyway.
I got a text from our youngest granddaughter yesterday, all the the way from Texas where she's doing a 3 months stint at Camp America. She'd messaged me to say she'd be graduating with a 2:1 (which is what she'd been hoping for). Now she's looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer before deciding on her next step in life.
Thank you again for the response to my 4 Spotted Chaser, the Hrts, stars and encouraging comments are all very much appreciated.
