South Shields

We set off from home in the late morning and had a reasonably leisurely drive to the ferry terminal at North Shields for the ferry to Ijmuiden. That is apart from missing the turn to the terminal in the road works and ending up at the Tyne Tunnel. Luckily there is a way out that the guy at the tolls told us about so no harm done. We were on the boat quickly, and enjoyed the bracing trip to the open sea, where the blip was taken as we passed the breakwater at South Shields.
