A mixed day but .....
..... enjoyable too.
Today my bestie friend "C" came with me to see "E", tho' she appears content is so sad to see how she is deteriorating . She new me but on speaking to her it soon became clear both her long term and short term memory was affected. Over the years , 64years in fact, we have done so much and enjoyed so much together lots of laughter and tears along the way. I'm just pleased she isn't in a turmoil state of mind but quite peaceful .
We arrived in Seaford at 12.15pm sat on the beach and had a pleasant lunch of melba toast and smoked salmon pate , coffee mouse and coffee. Then we went to see "E" at the nursing home where we spent 2 hours with her "C" arranged the flowers for her ( and enjoyed reading her Times news paper !!) I'm not sure how much "E" reads and understands but am so pleased she is still doing something normal, even if it's not read, it's so important that we try to keep things as normal as possible for people like "E", bless her.
When we left we meandered along the lanes then decided to go to Alfriston to The Apiary , sat in a beautiful garden and had a cream tea in the sunshine before we wended our way home . "C" came in with flowers from her garden this morning which I enjoyed arranging this evening.
Grateful ...... for friends old and new, as "C" is the new one --- I've only know her 33 years !! No seriously , thank you to them both and all you wonderful folk out there too.
