Leap

A sporty day for the males in the family. My son was out early to compete in the triple jump at the track and field event, and I did a 10 kilometers run in the morning. It was great to see so many young athletes putting their heart and soul into their events. Wonderful, too, to see so many cheering for those who came in last for the races.

I love it when runners and supporters cheer for the last place runner. That is why I love running so much. Remember Karen Bonnet Natraj in last year's Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run?  Now, huge congratulations to Jim Walmsley for breaking the course record at the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run today.
