GDPR training for all of us today at work. A huge amount of work to be done by all entities to comply with the new rules. I don't quite know what's driven it but we have to run with it. If we don't remain in the European Economic Area after Brexit, will it all be quietly dropped by a Conservative government that usually does not favour stringent regulation?

For an international organisation like ours, with people scattered in far flung places, critical questions remain about the jurisdiction of GDPR. Does it apply to EEA nationals working in places like Cambodia, non-EEA nationals working in the UK office or all of our global operations and all staff as we are a UK headquartered organisation? It's critical to understand this as I need to know how much to push the GDPR when in places like Liberia or Mozambique.

Having said that, lots of the GDPR boils down to common sense. As our external trainer said about the practicability of the regulations and approach to data protection in general, 'if you're being a bit of a git then you're probably doing something wrong.'
