Tunnel of Light
By a rather strange quirk of fate todays Blip (taken at 8:03 am this morning) strangely echoed the theme of this evenings talk at the photo club. Despite appearances this shot is straight out of the camera and wasn't a double exposure nor did it employ the use of any Photoshopping or other trickery (in case you are wondering it's a shot through a glass window into the tunnel at Newhailes house with the trees and sky reflecting in the glass).
So how is this shot similiar to this evenings photo talk? Tonights speaker was Jo Cound who spoke of her project to rephotograph all of the engravings found in the 200 year old Scotia Depicta book (a copy of which was found some years ago by a relative in a skip!). She did all her shots using a large format (4 x 5 inch) MPP camera on film and also a large format pinhole camera....FilmBlipper got very enthusiastic about this, particularly the chance to handle the MPP camera during the break and handle the large 5 x 4 inch transparencies it produced. Great photography project....think I'll start searching some skips tomorrow for discarded books...
