Salford in Harmony

The beginning of Armed Forces Week, and the Monday start to work was a little different.

Speeches - the Ceremonial Mayor, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, a Major from the Fusiliers, and the City Mayor.

The raising of a flag, with a piper playing The Flowers of the Forest.

And some singing from “ Salford in Harmony” - As long as I have Music, Hallelujah, I vow to thee my Country, and Jerusalem. Pictured here before everyone else arrived.

It has been really hot today - 27 degrees at least. And it is set to continue. Maybe black is not the colour to wear for the rest of the week.
