Born to be Wild
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space - Steppenwolf, 1968
Someone better stop me. Some new baby birds had better show up soon, anything to get me off the bug-porn express. Of course, who could really blame me today? Had a fun walk with my naturalist friends today. Although it was quite windy, eventually some butterflies and dragons came out to play. Also saw some very interesting red aphids tending their nymphs. Two photos can be seen on Flick, starting HERE.
When I took a look at the footage from my Critter Cam from last night, I found that we'd had a rather large, furry, black visitor around 5 this morning. Thank goodness all the feeders were either 1) inside, or 2) suspended well out of bear-reach. Video on Flick HERE, 10 seconds - worth a look if you've not seen our black bears before.
I just got tickets for an exhibition and presentation by Joel Sartore, the NGS photographer who created the Photo Ark project. I am such a huge fan of his work, both in terms of photography and in terms of conservation, and am so excited to see him speak. The event is 3 hours from us, so we'll make an overnight trip of it. July 28...
And, now, I need to get cleaned up. Photographing insect porn is dirty business.
