Looks like I'll have a bumper crop of walnuts again this year, providing Sammy Squirrel and friends don't pinch them before they are ripe.   Lovely how the golden evening light highlights them to perfection.   
Apparently now is the time to preserve them as pickled walnuts, not something I fancy so I'll pass on that one.
