Making an Entrance (MM231)

We've had a day of errands and odd jobs punctuated by coffee & cake at Charlecote Park where Gill decided to accept the offer of a ride on the electric buggy rather than walk the length of the driveway.  I took this image on the way back up the drive looking back towards the gatehouse and, behind it, the main part of the house itself. 

Designed to impress visitors with the wealth, influence and power of the family it is quite a sight - even if the arch through the gatehouse is not quite as big as it might appear and a tall coach might well have problems passing through without knocking someone's hat off :-)
