Hastings shore based fishing fleet

A grand day out to celebrate my 6x birthday! Bodiam Castle first for coffee and cheese scone then on to Hastings.

Parked on the cliff tops and walked down to the old town then along the prom via the pier to St Leonard’s where we caught the train back to Hastings walking back to the Old Town for fish and chips at The Mermaid. Glorious weather, bright sunshine, cooling breeze.

We had to walk off that lot before we got back in the car, so we took a walk around the fishing boats hauled up on the shore. Hastings had the largest shore launched fleet in the country. One fisherman obviously went out without his boots.

A very pleasant evening at home with drinks and nibbles rounded off the day.
