Laying down anchors

An delicate operation lifting heavy chains and two ships anchors off a low loader onto the Putney embankment, as the western leg of the great Tideway Turd Tunnel project begins.

An interesting point to notice is that the shackle connecting the strop from the anchor to the digger hydraulic arm is not much larger than a regular climbing carabiner. Not bad considering the anchor probably weighs a good 10 tons.
