7.20am Campbeltown, New Quay
21.5C and bright with thin cloud which made it hazy. Light E/ESE breeze.
The giant wind turbine tower sections are on the move again. Two came round town last night about 11.15pm. Huge towing tractors with manned rear steering units bring them from the factory by the airport to the new quay. On the low loaders the tower sections (on their sides) are as high as the lamp posts. Roads are closed and the town is filled with blue and yellow flashing lights as the police cars and the escort vehicles arrive. The whole thing seems to happen very slowly, then suddenly they have gone past and everything is quiet again. Some time later the tractor units rumble back out of town.
This morning, when Fergus and I went for our walk, two tower sections were on stands on the new quay. No doubt more will arrive tonight. Sometime this week a ship will arrive to load them and take them away.
Fergus and I went for our walk after lunch. It was warm but there was no direct sun. The cloud has not burned back despite promises from every weather forecast. We went round to the harbour, then went along by the park and Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House.
We came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).
