La Copa Mundial

Maybe not, but it was a titanic battle between two so-evenly matched teams.

The staff side, average age 40 plus and the Sixth Form side, average age 18.

The game plan was simple: keep them crowded down in their own half, maintain the pressure and score a few early on to demoralise them completely.

All went to plan for the first two minutes.

By half time, the score was 13 - 0 to the students.

The staff did score two goals later in the second half, but the final whistle had the students at about 17. The referee needed another piece of paper and a new pen to make a note of all the goals scored.

But it was good fun and entertained everybody for a couple of hours.

Tomorrow is prize giving and then it's goodbye from us, and goodbye from them.
