Orchids everywhere
Having been foiled in our plans to visit Harlow Carr on Friday, we returned there this morning, before driving home.
It was well worth the effort. A great garden to walk round, but particularly inspiring were the wild orchids in flower in all sorts of odd places. They were popping up in the meadow areas (see extras), amongst the primulas, and generally everywhere. We spoke to one of the women tending the garden, and were heartened to learn that it is entirely possible we could introduce some to our meadow, and they will do OK - they're just rather expensive to buy!
We then had a late lunch at Betty's, and drove home well fed.
Now time for bed.
