Great White Pelican Migration

As the seasons change all over the World, birds and animals prepare themselves in their own way for the coming months. Some go to sleep, some grow warmer coats, some fly to the warmer climates.

The Pelicans passed through Luxor this morning. Many groups of hundreds of birds, took rest on the thermals on the West Bank, before they crossed the River Nile to the East, to take more rest. Sailing round in circles, one minute they were white, the next they were black and in a flash, they seemed to disappear. The light was playing tricks on me.

It is simply breathtaking to see so many and to be so close! No one failed to be amazed, even the locals stopped and looked to the skies.
