Horse and Trap

Though there are plenty of cars in the Gaza Strip, fuel can be in short supply and prohibitively expensive due to the closure of the Gaza Strip by Israel.

Many people, particularly fishermen and labourers, get around by using a horse and trap or, more often, a donkey and trap. It's a hard life. This is possibly one of the reasons why, instead of 'working like a dog', people in the Middle East say 'working like a donkey'.

I usually wake up in the morning to the clip clop of their hooves on the street outside.
