Dominic and the Fish

Today's the day ……………………… for a grand day out

A lovely day out with Dominic today - full of things to make him excited.

It started with a train ride from Haverthwaite to Lakeside, at the southern end of Windermere.  It doesn't take long but the scenery is fantastic - and when you're being pulled by a steam locomotive, it does make it very special.

Then, a visit to the Aquarium of the Lakes -  with creatures from the lakes of the world along with those a little closer to home too - like otters and diving ducks to British sharks and rays.  We walked through the incredible underwater tunnel which allowed Dominic to get very close to some very exciting fish.

Then it was back on the train to Haverthwaite and a bit of time to say hello to the owls on the platform - from the Owls Trust.  Within a few minutes of the drive home, the eyes drooped and a little nap was in order after all that excitement ………………………..
